Dental Insurance
Your dental insurance will typically help cover periodontal procedures like gum disease therapy, but cosmetic procedures and dental implants aren’t covered. We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield® dental insurance plans and will help maximize your benefits.
Financing Options
If you’re uninsured or have out-of-pocket expenses, we offer in-house payment plans and accept financing through CareCredit®. This third-party lender allows patients who qualify to pay for their care in affordable monthly installments.
How Solea Perioguide Benefits You
Solea was the first CO2 dental laser cleared by the FDA to treat teeth and gums. Solea with the Perioguide attachment offers patients benefits like:
Gentle Care
With this dental laser, patients can benefit from gentler gum procedures that require no scalpels. Since it’s so gentle, you may not even require a local anesthetic.
Single Visits
Laser gum therapy is so quick that it can often be completed in a single appointment at our Columbus dental office. This saves patients time and allows them to get back to their lives with minimal disruption.
Easy Healing
Laser gum therapy often requires no anesthesia and results in little to no bleeding, so you can return to work, school, or your regularly scheduled activities shortly after your appointment.
While 90-95% of our gum disease cases qualify for Solea Perioguide, some cases will require a traditional approach. Dr. Brett Helton or Dr. Alexis Gibbs will explain the recommended approach during your consultation so you can move forward with confidence.
Other Periodontal Treatments
Scaling and Root Planing
Also known as a “deep cleaning,” scaling and root planing removes plaque and tartar buildup from above and below the gumline. This smooths the tooth roots and allows the gums to reattach to the teeth for patients who have mild to moderate gum disease.
Gum Surgery
If you have a more advanced form of gum disease and do not qualify for Solea, you may require traditional gum surgery. This procedure uses a scalpel to remove diseased gum tissue and sutures to help the gums heal around the teeth.
Gum Contouring
If you have an uneven gumline or a gummy smile, a dental laser can be used to remove excess gum tissue and create a more attractive frame for your teeth. Dr. Helton is affiliated with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and can deliver stunning results.
Dental Implants
Periodontics also includes the replacement of missing teeth. Our general dentists can coordinate your care with a trusted local surgeon to place dental implants. Our team can then restore your missing teeth with a crown, bridge, or denture.
